Donors obtain immediate expense relief from operating costs including dockage, crew, insurance, and maintenance. They will receive a tax benefit and possible "bargain sale cash" which combined will approach or exceed that which can be obtained from a market sale. Any broker fees are paid directly by AIG so there are no client sales costs (aside from the appraisal which must be paid by the donor). There are no lengthy evaluations, sea trials, hauling or time off the market. Most importantly, there is the personal gratification of having accomplished all this while making a needed donation to a worthy charitable organization.
